Karen on Whitney
Listening to Karen as the city flowed
there was a sense of innocence,
a hoping, maybe, just maybe, they would listen...
Life does not have to grind, it does not need to pounce, or pummel us.
We need to concern ourselves with each other,
to see that each of us is a work of art.
We belong to one another; we share this spinning planet...
We love, we dream, we raise our young...
We cherish our old, we see their dignity...
Let us be innocent , let us hear the simple melodies of lovely song,
Let us be a part of the melody,
Let life happen graciously ...
Let's not grind our way through...

The songs of the Carpenters were playing as this was written, Karen had such a perfect voice for those melodies...
