Yellow, White, and Green
Yellow, you startle me,
You always seem to sneak up on me.
I am enjoying the Green as it couples with the warmth,
The gentle breezes and easy grasses.
I visit gazebos; I hear music in the parks;
Sipping Chianti beneath the stars.
You will find me at the shore, even greeting the sun…
Then I just turn slightly back, just a glance,
And Yellow, there you are.
Soon it‘s the Red the Gold and the Brown…
White, why do you stay so long?
Why so bleak and dark and cold?
White, you make me shiver,
My limbs are tight, my feet are numb.
My heart is encased with frost.
O Green, please return,
Please bring your thaw.
Green, when you come again
I promise not to turn around too fast…
