First Aid
It is getting increasingly difficult,
Difficult to practice my trade…
The knees, the back, the blood pressure,
I worry more these days about injury,
I have replaced my truck’s first aid kit,
I now carry with me a paramedic…
I figure it will save precious time when the inevitable crisis hits.
He seems nice enough; he bores easily…
I am glad he rides with me; someday I may teach him to hold a wrench.
I have finally finished my addition to the house,
It took much too long…
It was going to be my den; but not now…
You see, I’ve invited my psychiatrist to move in…
