                 Winter Music

 

I listened to winter music a few days before my next summer,

I sat and wondered why?

Why now just before the long awaited season of warmth,

Just before the linden flower sweetens the warm air,

The honeysuckle had already brought me peace, why now?

Winter music by the fire of a February night?

Memories of pining by the window, how long must I wait I kept

thinking…

Now we are only hours away; could this be my trick?

Next February when I hear these winter melodies will it seem like only

hours?

Hours till the linden flowers?
