Dear Mr. Blue Jay
Dear Mr. Blue Jay
I just cannot hate you,
They say you are an agressor,
They tell me you attack the others,
I have heard it is fine to shoot you,
I just cannot hate you,
I will not shoot you...
You are not a man,
You have no conscience...
You have committed no crimes,
I just see your beauty,
I love your lines I love your blue...
You are just trying to survive.
You see, man does not have your options,
He just thinks he does...

Birds make a wonderful subject for poetry as you will find in this month's 'The Masters'. The above poem is one of several 'bird' poems I have written. You can say my poems are 'for the birds', I will assume you mean the 'bird' ones!
This particular poem may not be as simple as it seems, it has a very profound message that speaks to man's behavior, I would love some input from my visitors in the guest book.
(Can you guess what highly esteemed fictional character said it is fine to shoot blue jays?)
