                  Oil

So I had oil delivered to the house yesterday.

It actually cost about as much as my first car…

I do have to remember, I am getting old.

However, I know if you told me then,

When I received my ‘68’ Plymouth Sport Fury,

I would have thought you were nuts.

There are so many things that have happened;

I have not been prepared for so many of them.

Aging is not graceful, it is not welcome.

The problem is, it is expected, it is accepted…

There is another kind of oil that is not expensive,

It is in fact precious…

It is the oil of the truth;

This truth does not expect aging to continue,

It does not accept it as a part of life.

It sheds light on the fact that aging is not natural;

Men were not meant to become frail, forgetful, forgotten…

There was a widow of Zarephath; she had only a little oil,

Yet, this oil did not run out, she had truth in her house;

This truth brought her son back to life,

This truth will sustain life for us all,

It will bring back sons and fathers;

Sisters and brothers, mothers…

This is the most precious oil, the oil of truth…
