Wildflower Honey
It was the 2nd of May,
I had brewed the roobios
to follow the malbec.
I decided to drop in some honey,
Wildflower.
As I reached the bottom of the cup,
I tipped it as far as it could go,
My nose suddenly was hit with aroma,
it was so reminiscent of yesteryears...
I was youthful once again,
I could smell the past, as if in my old yard.
The lawn, the wild onions, the
Wildflowers.
I began to pine for the innocence of it all,
the days when my concerns were tended
by my parents...
It was an every day adventure of wonder...
Bumblebees would bumble along with me.
We would enjoy the fresh warm air, the
Wildflowers.
I am still filled with wonder in my old age,
that such power can arise from the scent of
Wildflowers...
