Chicago Cries
I remember as an adolescent,
hearing Elvis sing "In The Ghetto".
It made me sad, it made me cry...
I'm white, I never felt privileged,
It filled my young soul with sorrow:
Why would any person have to live like that?
It is not fair, it is not just, or equitable.
Yet it goes on.
You would think that a man of color,
who had reached the pinnacle,
could save the city he called home;
yet with 8 years at the helm, Chicago cried...
Still as he is retired in Martha's Vineyard,
men fight with words and fire,
I cry, Chicago cries...
"On a cold and gray Chicago morning
another little baby child is born, in the
ghetto, and his momma cries... "
I cry, Chicago cries...

9/2/20 * Jer. 10:23
This is not intended to be a political statement:
It states the truth of my 11th year on earth back in 1969, it did and does
"make me cry". I learned 6 years later what *Jeremiah said about man.
Please read it and ponder how man has done ruling themselves...
