Please let me make this clear, I have no political affiliation, I am not vying for any particular group upon writing these words, this is simply a contractor's view of his trade.
I know of many folks , young and old who are going broke trying to keep their houses warm.There is a certain elderly couple who have spent $5000.00 on oil this heating season; there are single parent families who have even used fuel assistance only to see it run out in zero degree temperatures; not being told that it had in fact run out. People have had to use credit cards to get a few weeks of heat. To purchase 150 gallons of oil costs $580.00, this does not even last a month in many cases, even with the t stat down in the 60's.
The big oil companies are the most profitable of all the major businesses'.They are making billions of dollars while the average hard working citizen tries to keep their families warm. Advice and suggestions are fine and I try to be informative along those lines, I do not however have any technical answer on how to solve the major current energy problem,GREED.
Have you noticed that natural gas and propane have spiked in cost as well? Keep watching, that G word spreads fast...
