It’s very exciting (and stressful) to build or remodel a new bathroom. There are so many choices to make, fixtures to purchase and install. A little helpful hint from one who knows: beware of designer colors for your fixtures. My parents had to rebuild their house in 1995 due to a devastating fire to the old cape that I grew up in. They built a very nice colonial (I still pine for my old room). In the master bath they chose a likable “Seafoam Green” for the fixture color, whirlpool tub, toilet, and lav sinks. Recently there is a need to replace the toilet seat, guess what? Kohler no longer makes or offers a seafoam green toilet seat! It’s only been 20 years, that is not long in bathroom years, yet the only choice is white or wood. White is just not right, and wood is not that good! I conferred with my supply house and they claim that Church (a toilet seat company) offers a color match system that may accommodate the need for this green seat. The cost will be around $100.00 delivered- if it was white or bone, around $30.00.
Does Kohler think we are going to change all the fixtures to match a new toilet seat? Why don’t they make our green one and charge a premium? Because, it’s not cost effective. Well my back hurts too much to remodel a 20 year old bathroom; it will either be Church or wood. Designer colors, not too good…
Thanks,JJ
