Have you ever noticed when driving the numerous water towers on the landscape? Do you know what they are for? Pressure! Water pressure! Can you guess what force of nature is integral for these water towers? It's gravity! That's right gravity! Man discovered early on that water loves to run down hill ( Just ask Curley Howard ). There are thousands of water towers all over the world, you can find them on the top of buildings; just look next time you are in a big city. You will find some amazing artistic towers, some that look like peaches, ketchup bottles, and on and on. I would like to suggest a web site: Watertowers.com it is fun. In our homes we need to manage the pressure. When we have a water boiler we need to cut the city pressure from 75 psi to around 20 psi. This calls for a pressure reducing valve. Sometimes the water from the street can be too high, over 100 psi, in this case you need a pressure reducer on the main line. It is ironically like life: managing pressure! Too much, too little, oh well, that's why there are poets!
