We in Connecticut are facing a strange shortage. No, it’s not gasoline or toilet paper, or any of the usual things we may be used to, it’s plumbers! I mean real bonified licensed plumbers. Not the guy who thinks he has the right to go out and do everyone’s trade, with no license, you know the handyman who undercuts the real plumbers, and half the time causes more trouble than there was before- those types will always be there. However, the real professional plumber, trained in codes and efficient in Gas safety and so on is on the decline. Here are some numbers: there are about 14,500 electricians in the state of Ct. there are only 4,500 plumbers! Do you see a problem? It really is quite a shortage. Many of the 4,500 are my age, 60 plus.
Spread the word among the young, girls and boys, there is plenty of opportunity in one of the most important trades there is. Where would we be without plumbing? Or the plumbers to install and maintain it…
Thanks, JJ
