Back in the eighties it seemed that 75% of the new bathrooms were installed with "polished brass" faucets and fixtures. These "gold" like faucets were the trend to be sure, (some even were gold plated). As time passed a very serious flaw began to show up, the finish of the "gold" began to fade and literally peel off. That never happened to the old "chrome" faucets ( at least not to the alarming degree ). Well it is not pleasent to look at the faded finish of the old trend of "polished brass" just fade away, in our bathrooms. If one wants to replace these they are harder to find and can be pricey.
The new trend for several years now is "nickel". Polished, brushed, whatever, it's nickel. They are nice, some seem hard to clean. Not to worry though, most manufacturers say the finish is fade and peel proof, we shall see. We will also wait for the next trend, or if one wants to be safe, stick with chrome...
Thanks, JJ.
